2-hour Training
Title: The Basics of Mindfulness Meditation
Description: The goal of this training is to motivate participants to integrate 6 to 10 minutes of mindfulness meditation into their daily lives, leading to concrete changes in their professional and personal lives. In addition to the theoretical aspect, which will be presented using a Power Point presentation, the training will of course include a practical aspect: participants will experience three different guided meditations.
A summary is sent to participants after the course.
1-hour Workshop
Title: Yuan Qi Gong Discovery Workshop
Description: The first half of this workshop is an introduction to this approach using a Power Point. In the second half, we’ll try Method 1, which consists of slow, fluid movements mainly of the arms. The movements are done standing with shoes on, and the feet remain in the same position on the floor. No special equipment is needed.
Some describe Qi Gong as moving meditation and find it easier than sitting meditation. The practice leads to relaxation and increased vitality.
Guided meditation session 35-45 min
Whether participants have previous meditation experience or not, these sessions provide immediate benefits:
- relaxation
- less mental agitation
- less physical tension
- greater well-being
- greater mental clarity and focus
Approximate sequence: Introduction, 20-minute guided meditation, feedback. Typically, a 35-minute session is best for videoconferencing, and a 45-minute session is best for in-person sessions.

Laurence Mercier’s virtual meditation session at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) was a tremendous success! Her unique approach, which catered to a diverse group of 30 to 40 attendees with varying levels of expertise and backgrounds, truly stood out. Whether participants were PhD holders, technical experts, or professionals from different fields, the session was universally appreciated and enjoyed. Laurence’s ability to engage participants from all walks of life, combined with her clear and effective delivery, made the guided meditation experience both accessible and impactful. For many firsttimers, it was a great discovery and a very positive experience. We received glowing feedback from all around. NRCan’s leadership valued this innovative addition, and we’re excited to consider similar sessions for future retreats and events. What is Qi Gong ?
There are different forms of Qi Gong (Qi is pronounced “tchi”), just as there are different forms of dance or martial arts. Yuan Qi Gong from the Ren Xue School is the form I teach. I’ve tried other approaches, but this is by far the one I prefer. It’s a system that includes four methods in which you make slow, flowing movements while standing, and four still, meditative methods, including one that helps open the heart.
In addition to bringing great relaxation, this Qi Gong practice also brings greater vitality. The movements help relieve tension in the back and shoulders, and reduce stiffness in the joints. It also helps to reduce mental agitation. Overall, the practice of Qi Gong promotes mental, emotional and physical health.
Watch the video on the right to see extracts from methods 1 and 3.
